Pros

  • Long battery life - up to 80 hours

  • Good sound for the price

Cons

  • Disappointing bass
  • Sound cancelling only effective when listening to music

The Bottom Line

The Sony MDRZX110NC noise cancelling headphones offer very good value for their price. They have some very good customer feedback and are a worthy choice if you want noise cancelling headphones under $50.

It's important to be aware that these are not 100% noise cancelling. First of all, they are not large enough to sit fully over the ear. This means they sit on the ear and as a result allow in some ambient sound. They do a good job though of reducing the background noise when you listen to music, especially in the low frequency range. You will hear your music more clearly, but you will still hear a small amount of surrounding noise. If you want noise cancelling headphones to act as earmuffs, these will not work. When not listening to music they do not work well enough to block out sounds.

The sound quality is good for the price. You are not going to get audiophile quality in this price range, but they do provide a solid listening experience. The bass is perhaps a little disappointing but the mids and highs are clear.

One of the best features of these headphones is their light weight and their easy portability. They fold up easily and are light and comfortable enough to wear for hours at a time. Overall, they are very good everyday use headphones and are a great option for under $50.

Superlux HD 681 Dynamic Semi-Open Headphones

Pros

  • Very stylish design
  • Semi open ear allows for more natural listening experience
  • Good sound across whole frequency spectrum
  • Low price

Cons

  • Questionable durability
  • Some customers find them uncomfortable

The Bottom Line

Coming in at a very low price, these are great entry level headphones. As far as overall value goes, you can find better headphones for under 50. However they do have a lot to offer.

They look stylish and are surprisingly lightweight. The headband is a soft and comfortable vinyl band which is supported by a metal frame. This gives it flex and strength.

The sound quality is generally good. It is far from perfect, but for the price is very solid. We like how well represented the whole frequency spectrum is. Whether you are a gamer or a regular music listener you will appreciate the overall sound. By being semi open headphones, surrounding sounds are allowed in. This gives the music a more natural sound. It does however mean that these are not noise isolating and do also leak some surrounding sound.

Some customers found the ear cushions to be a bit stiff and as a result were unable to wear them for hours at a time without discomfort. Also in some cases the build quality was less than average with the durability being questionable. Overall we like these and think they are good entry level headphones.

Sennheiser HD 202 II Professional Headphones

Pros

  • Very low price
  • Best selling headphones
  • Ear cups are detachable
  • Clean and punching bass
  • Lightweight and comfortable
  • Replaceable earpads
  • Two year warranty

Cons

  • Low quality build
  • Unlikely to last you more than a few months

Note: Headphone Selection is in no way affiliated with the creator of this video.

The Bottom Line

These Sennheiser headphones are impressive. At a very low price they deliver in many ways and are guaranteed to impress. They are very popular with customers and are best sellers on Amazon.

For such a low price, it's amazing how good these sound. Whether you are a budding DJ or not, you will appreciate the kick in the bass and the clarity to the overall sound. Very impressive. While not totally noise isolating, the over the ear design does block out a lot of surrounding sound.

We love the simplicity in the design. There is nothing fancy about them, but simple is often best and this is a fine example. They are lightweight, and the headband can be adjusted to suit the size of your head. They are very comfortable to wear, even for hours at a time.

A negative is the build quality, especially in the cord. When purchasing these do not expect them to last more than a few months. This should not deter you. The price is so low and the overall value so high, that you won't mind replacing them when they break. You won't find better value than these.

The Bottom Line

These are our favorite best headphones under 50 dollars. They deliver across all the important features: sound, comfort, durability and price. You are sure to love them.

For under $50 you won't find better sound quality. These are almost as good as the ATH-M50x headphones, but at a much lower price. You get clear and detailed sound, strong bass and a full sound stage. There are huge numbers of happy customers which agree with this.

Unlike many other of the best over ear headphones under 50, these are also built to last. The build is strong and rugged, leaving no doubt that the durability is very high. At the same time, they are very light headphones at just 190 grams.

With the soft padding on the ear cushions and headband, combined with the adjustable fit you are guaranteed to find these ultra comfortable. Wearing them all day either over the head or around the neck will be no problem at all.

For the price these cannot be beaten. They are an easy choice if you want great headphones under 50.
